Why and when to visit

Towards the start or end of summer is a great time to visit Split, Croatia. It can get hot, around mid 30 degrees celsius, but manageable. Split has a few lovely beaches along the coast, and also great food. Its also not too expensive compared to other European countries. The food, for instance, you get generous portion sizes. Also, If you’re a Game of Throne’s fan, then a visit to Dubrovnik which is around 3 hours drive is worth a visit.

Getting there and around

Car is an option and useful if you indent to visit Croatia’s national parks such as Plitvice Lakes National Park. If you’re staying in the city centre of Split, there are plenty of buses to get around.

Eating out

The city centre offers a variety of good food. They have many cuisines ranging from pizzerias to local Croatian cuisines. Seafood is also a good choice since you’ll be by the sea.
